Here are five key points ahead of Saturday’s clash between Nashville SC and New England Revolution at GEODIS Park:
- Nashville SC kicked off its 2026 campaign with a 2-0 win over Atlético Ottawa in the Concacaf Champions Cup (CCC) last Tuesday. The Boys in Gold have a packed schedule, playing four matches in just 12 days between the CCC and MLS (Feb. 17 to 28).
- Last year, Nashville SC started the MLS season with a 0-0 draw against the Revolution at GEODIS Park. The club’s all-time record in season openers stands at 2 wins, 1 loss, and 3 draws, while their home opener record is 1 win, 1 loss, and 4 draws.
- In 2025, Nashville set a new club record with 15 home victories in all competitions (MLS and U.S. Open Cup) at GEODIS Park and led all teams with soccer-specific stadiums in average home attendance.
- The match will be the first appearance at GEODIS Park for Nashville SC’s newest Designated Player, midfielder Cristian Espinoza. Signed in January as a free agent, Espinoza notched an assist during his NSC debut last Tuesday.
- Forward Sam Surridge, who broke the club single-season scoring record with 31 goals in 2025 and was a Landon Donovan MLS MVP finalist, continued his impressive form in the new campaign. He found the back of the net in Nashville’s 2-0 win over Ottawa on Tuesday. Surridge has also been highly effective against the New England Revolution, tallying five goals in five career matches versus the Revs.
Nashville SC entered Major League Soccer on February 29, 2020, drawing the largest crowd ever for a soccer match in Tennessee. The club secured its first trophy and Tennessee’s first major pro sports championship by winning the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. In their debut season, Nashville SC became just the second MLS expansion team to win and advance to the Conference Semifinals in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. The Boys in Gold reached the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs again in 2021, going unbeaten at home for the entire season, an achievement accomplished by only seven teams in MLS history. Nashville also qualified for the playoffs in 2022, 2023, and 2025, making them the third team ever to reach the postseason in four of their first six seasons. GEODIS Park, which opened on May 1, 2022, is the largest soccer-specific stadium in the U.S. and Canada, debuting in front of a sellout crowd of 30,109.
