The match will air live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on 104.5 The Zone and is the first of five remaining regular season road fixtures
Nashville Soccer Club will visit Orlando City SC at INTER&Co Stadium Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT in the second and final regular season meeting between the clubs this season.
Here are five things to know for Saturday’s match, available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on Nashville SC’s flagship station 104.5 The Zone.
- Beginning Saturday night in Orlando, all eight of Nashville’s remaining opponents are fellow members of the Eastern Conference, making every match an important opportunity to gain and steal points from those teams in the race to the playoffs. The Boys in Gold currently sit just two points behind Atlanta for the ninth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot and are tied with Chicago, D.C., and New England at 26 points apiece. Five of those eight regular season matches will take place away from GEODIS Park, including Decision Day at Chicago on Saturday, Oct. 19.
- Saturday night’s match marks the 14th fixture between Nashville SC and Orlando City SC across all competitions, tying the Lions with fellow Florida club Inter Miami CF for its most frequent opponent since joining Major League Soccer in 2020. The Boys in Gold hold a series record of 3W-5L-5D in nine regular season matches, three Audi MLS Cup Playoff meetings (2021 and 2023, making the Florida side the only club the team has faced more than once in the postseason), and one Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup fixture (2022).
- Nashville SC goalkeeper Joe Willis has three shutouts in 12 career matches against Orlando City SC, including one for the Boys in Gold in a 2-0 victory the last time they visited Orlando in regular season play on April 1, 2023.
- Midfielder Jonathan Pérez, who was recently acquired on loan from the LA Galaxy during MLS’ 2024 secondary transfer window, made his first MLS appearance for Nashville SC last Saturday versus Austin FC at GEODIS Park, logging 53 minutes plus added time.
- Following this weekend’s fixture, the Boys in Gold won’t play in MLS until Sept. 14 at Atlanta due to the September FIFA men’s international fixture window. During this period, Nashville SC will play its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate Huntsville City Football Club on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville, Ala. in the first open exhibition match between the clubs. Tickets are available here.
