The Series Is even 2-2 on Aggregate

Wednesday’s Match Will Determine Who Advances to the Concacaf Champions Cup Quarterfinals

The Match Will Air Live at 7:15 p.m. CT on FS2, TUDN, and Fubo TV

Nashville SC continues its run in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup (CCC) Wednesday night when the Boys in Gold visit Inter Miami CF at 7:15 p.m. CT at Chase Stadium for the second leg of the club’s Round of 16. The winner of the two-leg home-away series will advance to the CCC Quarterfinals.

Here are five things to know for Wednesday’s match, airing live at 7:15 p.m. CT on FS2, TUDN, and Fubo TV:

  1. The Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16 features a two-leg, home-away series decided on aggregate. Following last week’s 2-2 draw at GEODIS Park in leg one, Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF are all square heading into Wednesday’s second and decisive leg. If the scores are even after regulation, away goals will serve as the first tiebreaker. If away goals are also even extra time will be played, followed by a penalty shootout, if necessary.
  2. Nashville SC’s Jacob Shaffelburg enters Wednesday night’s match on a CCC hot streak. The Canadian forward has three goals in his last two CCC appearances, including both Nashville tallies in leg one of the series for his first career brace. Shaffelburg also scored in NSC’s Round One series-clinching victory over Dominican side Moca FC.
  3. Wednesday’s tilt will be the sixth matchup between Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF since May 2023 across all competitions (MLS, Leagues Cup, Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup) and the 12th meeting since August 2020, both club’s inaugural MLS season. The Boys in Gold are 4W-2L-5D against the Herons in that span.
  4. The final whistle Wednesday night will cap a run of seven matches in 21 days for Nashville SC. The team began its 2024 campaign on Feb. 22 in the Dominican Republic against Moca FC in Round One of the CCC. With the congested schedule, Nashville SC’s lineup Sunday afternoon against the LA Galaxy featured 10 changes to its starting XI from last Thursday’s CCC match against Inter Miami CF and seven changes from its last MLS match against the Colorado Rapids on March 2.The Boys in Gold will play again Saturday, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. CT against Charlotte FC at GEODIS Park—the team’s eighth match in 24 days. Tickets for Saturday’s match are available here.
  5. Wednesday’s winner will advance to the CCC Quarterfinals to face the winner of FC Cincinnati at CF Monterrey. Liga MX side CF Monterrey leads the series 1-0 on aggregate after one leg.
