- Earlier this week, Nashville SC announced that United States Men’s National Team assistant coach J. Callaghan has been appointed the second head coach in club history. Callaghan will join the team on July 22nd and make his debut on July 31st when the Boys in Gold host Mazatlán F.C. in Leagues Cup 2024 Group Stage play at GEODIS Park.
- Nashville SC played its first-ever Major League Soccer road match against the Timbers at Providence Park on March 8, 2020, with the clubs meeting only two times since. The team’s inaugural road match took place just six days after a deadly tornado outbreak significantly impacted Nashville and Middle Tennessee and, due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Boys in Gold wouldn’t play again until Aug. 12 at FC Dallas.
- The Boys in Gold will travel to the City of Roses unbeaten in four of their last five fixtures away from GEODIS Park (2W-1L-2D).
- Last Wednesday’s match at Columbus saw a pair of firsts for two Boys in Gold: rookie forward Forster Ajago made his debut start in MLS after appearing in three-straight matches off the bench while defender Joey Skinner, a member of the 2023 Generation adidas class and the 11th pick in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft, made his MLS debut when he subbed into the match in the 87th minute.
- Following Sunday night’s match at Portland, Nashville SC will conclude its run of three-straight road matches July 13th at D.C. United before returning to GEODIS Park to host Orlando City SC on Wednesday, July 17th at 7:30 p.m. CT. Tickets for the team’s return home, which serves as Teacher Appreciation and Back to School Night, are available here.
