Nashville Soccer Club is set to host Southeastern rival Charlotte FC this Saturday night at GEODIS Park on a 7:30 p.m. CT match that will serve as the club’s fourth Kick Childhood Cancer night. Coverage is available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, with radio coverage on 104.5 The Zone.

The Boys in Gold are coming off of a strong performance at Inter Miami CF on Wednesday night, in which they became the first team to hold the Herons scoreless since Lionel Messi joined the side. Goalkeeper Elliot Panicco made four saves, including a kick save on Messi deep into stoppage time to secure the scoreless draw and a point on the road.

Following Nashville SC’s clash with Inter Miami CF on Aug. 30, 2023, midfielder Tah Brian Anunga addressed the media. He spoke about shifting focus to a difficult opponent in Charlotte FC and Nashville’s drive to secure as many points as possible through the rest of the season as the squad tries to secure a home playoff spot.

Saturday’s match will be the second meeting of 2023 between Nashville and Charlotte. In the first matchup on May 20 in Charlotte, Hany Mukhtar bagged a brace, including a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time, to seal a thrilling 2-1 victory.

Nashville SC sits in seventh in the Eastern Conference with 39 points, just two points behind sixth-place Atlanta United (with a match in hand) and just three points behind fifth-place Columbus Crew. Charlotte FC is in 11th with 30 points, just two off of the playoff line and ninth-place Chicago Fire FC. Saturday’s match could have implications on the playoff race for both clubs.

The match will also mark the start of Kick Childhood Cancer month, an annual MLS-wide initiative aimed at raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer. Fans will be able to purchase a special Kick Childhood Cancer poster, scarf and patch, with proceeds benefitting Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Don’t miss a special halftime performance by guitarist Zach Person, who will also be kicking off the match with the Guitar Riff. Singer, songwriter and record producer Rachael Lampa will be performing the National Anthem, with DJ Hish mixing it up before the match.
