Nashville Soccer Club returns to GEODIS Park at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday to host Vancouver Whitecaps FC for the first time in club history, marking the last team Nashville SC has yet to see at least once in its MLS history. Limited tickets available at www.NashvilleSC.com/Tickets.
Yesterday, Head Coach Gary Smith previewed the match against Vancouver and emphasized the importance of the next stretch of home matches as well as the challenge the Whitecaps present with their roster rotation and flexibility. Defender Taylor Washington talked about his potential starting opportunity this weekend and the mindset that comes with approaching a match when his number is called.
Nashville SC has taken full advantage of playing in Music since joining MLS, earning results in 35 of 39 all-time MLS matches. The Boys in Gold are in a pivotal stretch of the season with seven of its next nine matches set to be played at GEODIS Park.
Beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, Nashville SC fans can visit the North Plaza for a special Opening Act performance by independent hip-hop artist, producer and dancer Hew G., as well as pop-up acoustic performances outside Gates C and F by Kobe Miyake and Gabe Baker, respectively. Fans with tickets in the GEODIS WeHo Club will also have access to a private performance by Daniel Bell, a Nashville-based alternative pop singer/songwriter.
Following the entrance of both teams on the pitch, local singer Katie Ohh will perform both the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems, and as the Boys in Gold take the pitch, Daniel Donato, a local artist whose sound blends the best of Nashville honkey tonks and the ethos of the Grateful Dead, will perform the guitar riff. Daniel will also grace the North Stage again to give fans a memorable halftime show.
At the conclusion of the match on Saturday, Head Coach Gary Smith and players will be available to the media via Zoom.
