Earlier today, Nashville SC owner John Ingram and general manager, Mike Jacobs presented the 2022 MLS Golden Boot, presented by Audi, to Landon Donovan MLS MVP frontrunner Hany Mukhtar prior to the club’s training session at Currey Ingram Academy.  Â
Mukhtar secured the Golden Boot on Decision Day after finishing the 2022 MLS regular season with a league-high 23 goals, becoming the first Nashville SC and German-born player in league history to win the award. Â
Mukhtar’s 23 goals are a single-season club record and the most by an MLS player in a single season since 2019. The Golden Boot winner, who also finished at the helm of the league in goal contributions with 34, accounted for 44.2% of Nashville’s goals (23 of 52) in 2022, which is the highest percentage in MLS this season.Â
Mukhtar and the Boys in Gold continue preparations this week for their 2022 Audi MLS Cup Playoff match at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 15 against the LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. Â
Nashville SC joined Major League Soccer on Feb. 29, 2020, in front of the largest attendance ever recorded for a soccer match in the State of Tennessee.
