Nashville Soccer Club returns to GEODIS Park at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday to host Toronto FC for the first and only time this season. This will mark the first of three matches on Nashville’s current homestand through Aug. 21. Limited tickets remain available at www.NashvilleSC.com/Tickets.
The Boys in Gold will play four of their final five matches in the month of August in Music City where they have earned results in 36 of 40 all-time MLS matches.
Against the Reds, Nashville owns a 2W-1L-1D all-time record including a win in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs that sent the Boys in Gold to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in the club’s expansion year. Overall, Nashville owns a 5W-1L-4D all-time record against Canadian teams.
Fans in attendance for this weekend’s match will want to arrive to GEODIS Park early to enjoy the pre-match entertainment. Prior to kickoff and beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT, Nashville SC fans can visit the North Plaza for a special Opening Act performance by one of downtown Broadway’s most well-known bands BLACKOUT, as well as pop-up acoustic performances outside Gates C and F by Mia Montero and Emily Ortego, respectively. Fans with tickets in the GEODIS WeHo Club will also have access to a private performance by Leaving Lennox, an Australian country-pop duo now based in Music City.
Following the entrance of both teams on the pitch, contemporary and urban gospel artist Keesha Rainey will perform both the U.S. and Canadian National Anthems, and as the Boys in Gold take the pitch, Keb’ Mo’, a five-time GRAMMY-winning singer, songwriter and guitarist, will perform the pre-match guitar riff.
On the pitch, forward Teal Bunbury has been on fire for the Boys in Gold, scoring in three consecutive matches since returning to the starting lineup after missing almost four months due to an injury. Bunbury’s scoring streak is the third time in his MLS career he’s scored in three consecutive matches, doing it twice with the New England Revolution in May 26 – June 9, 2018 and June 29 – July 17, 2019.
MVP candidate Hany Mukhtar continues to light up the scoresheet for Nashville, registering a goal or an assist in six of his last seven matches. Mukhtar leads the league in shots (88) and shots on target (48) and has been responsible for 18 of Nashville’s 30 goals this year.
