Nashville Soccer Club will take on its longest trip of the season as it travels to face the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, Aug. 27. The Boys in Gold will return home to GEODIS Park next week for two matches, marking a stretch of three matches in eight days.

Earlier today, Head Coach Gary Smith spoke to the media about the team’s performance in the 4-0 victory over FC Dallas this past weekend and the challenge ahead for the club traveling to Vancouver in a tightly contested Western Conference. That footage can be found here.

Nashville SC defender Dave Romney met with the media today and praised his teammates for their hard work in the shutout victory and his contributions to the club after setting a new career-high in goals scored in a season with a goal against Dallas. The Boys in Gold are coming off a sensational performance over the weekend, scoring a season high four goals in a 4-0 route of FC Dallas. The win tied its largest margin of victory in club history, also winning by four goals on July 17, 2021,vs. Chicago Fire and Sep. 22, 2021 at Inter Miami FC. Nashville SC has now scored in 12 consecutive matches dating back to June 19, a club record.

MVP candidate Hany Mukhtar continues to prove its form registering 10 goals and four assists in his last 10 matches. The German attacker is second in the Golden Boot race with 16 goals and is tied for the league lead in goal contributions with 25.

Mukhtar has been vital to Nashville SC’s success since joining the club, being involved in over half of the club’s regular season goals (61 of 117) in history and is the all-time leader in club history in goals (36) and assists (25).
