Nashville Soccer Club (3W-3L-3D, 12 pts.) will play host to MLS rival Atlanta United FC (5W-1L-3D, 18 pts.) presented by GEODIS in a nationally televised contest this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. CT live from GEODIS Park on the MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV App, FOX and FOX Deportes.

Nashville SC is coming off a quick turnaround after advancing to the Round of 32 in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with a 1-0 victory over San Antonio FC on Wednesday night. Ethan Zubak scored the winning goal in the second half, while goalkeeper Elliot Panicco recorded the shutout. Postgame footage from Head Coach Gary Smith and Zubak can be found here.

Saturday’s matchup will mark the ninth all-time fixture across all competitions with Nashville SC owning a 3W-2L-3D record over Atlanta. Nashville has not lost to the visitors since Aug. 22, 2020, scoring multiple goals in every match since Sept. 12, 2020.

The Boys in Gold have been stout on defense this season conceding the fewest goals (5) and leading the league alongside FC Cincinnati and Seattle Sounders FC with five shutouts in nine matches.

Reigning MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar has played a huge role in the series, recording a total of 11 goal contributions (6 Goals + 5 Assists) in eight matches across all competitions. Mukhtar has registered a goal or assist in six consecutive matches against Atlanta, a streak that dates back to Sept. 12, 2020.

Alex Muyl is on milestone watch, as he will reach 200 MLS regular season appearances in his next match. At 86 with Nashville SC, Muyl and Zimmerman are two appearances shy of surpassing former defender Dave Romney for third all-time in club history.

Prior to the match, Nashville SC will recognize Chief Warrant Officer Keith R. Prather of the United States Army as part of the Hyundai Military Salute and Matthew Pyle as the Hero of the match. Pyle is being honored after using skills learned in scouting to help assist his neighbors in need after a devastating tornado hit his neighborhood.

Joining Nashville SC’s Section 615 on Saturday will be members from Friends Life Community, an organization that provides enrichment and education for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so they develop greater confidence, improved self-advocacy, and active participation in their community.

Carrying the Nashville SC Community Flag will be guests from Mosaic Changemakers, whose mission is to weave a better South by supporting, growing and connecting leaders of color in the background and on the front lines of the fight for social, economic and racial justice.

Additionally, fans will be able to enjoy all the musical entertainment taking place inside and in the surroundings of GEODIS Park.
