Nashville Soccer Club (6W-3L-4D, 22 pts.) will travel to Charlotte FC (5W-5L-3D, 18pts) this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT at Bank of America Stadium. The match can be seen on the MLS Season Pass on the AppleTV App and on radio on 104.5 The Zone.

Coming off a 2-1 victory over Inter Miami CF on Wednesday night at GEODIS Park thanks to goals from Fafà Picault and Lukas MacNaughton, Nashville SC secured its third place in the Eastern Conference and extended its current unbeaten streak to seven matches in all competitions, dating back to April 22. Nashville SC has secured a 5W-0L-2D record, three shutouts and outscored its opponents 13-4 in that span.

Nashville SC enters Matchday 14 as the best defensive team in MLS, conceding the fewest goals with eight this season (LAFC has allowed the second fewest goals with nine in two fewer matches played). The Boys in Gold have not conceded a goal in the first half in 12 of 13 matches this season, the most in MLS.

Landon Donovan MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar has recorded six goals and four assists in his last eight MLS matches. In Wednesday’s win, Mukhtar served in his third consecutive match as captain. Nashville SC is unbeaten in four all-time matches with Mukhtar as Captain (3W-0L-1D) and owns a plus seven goal differential.

Dax McCarty is on history watch this weekend as the midfielder is one start away from tying Chad Marshall for second all-time in MLS history for games started by an outfield player at 404.

Defender Lukas MacNaughton scored his first MLS career goal on Wednesday night which proved to be the match-winner against Miami. MacNaughton has made three straight starts for Nashville SC since being acquired from Toronto FC and earned Team of the Matchday 13 honors today. After the match MacNaughton spoke to the media about the performance and previewed the match against Charlotte FC. His comments can be found here.

Following a 4-1 defeat on July 9, 2022, in the only fixture between these two sides, Charlotte FC is one of only two Eastern Conference teams Nashville SC has not defeated (also, New York Red Bulls) and is the only team in the Eastern Conference Nashville has not earned a result against. Mukhtar scored the lone goal by converting a penalty kick in the 67th minute.

At the conclusion of Saturday’s match, Nashville SC will head to South Florida to prepare for Tuesday’s Round of 16 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match against Inter Miami CF. The post-match press conference on Saturday will serve as matchday-2 media availability for the Open Cup match.
