Nashville SC will wrap up its quick two-match homestand this Saturday night against Austin FC in the first meeting of the season against the Verde and Black. Limited tickets remain available at www.NashvilleSC.com/Tickets.
The Boys in Gold are in their best form of the season riding a three-match winning streak and outscoring its opponents 11-1. In their most recent outing, Nashville tied their season high for goals in a match of four in route to a convincing 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids.
MVP front runner Hany Mukhtar bolstered his case as the league’s best after recording his second career hat trick, first ever at GEODIS Park in the win over Colorado. The performance resulted in the German winning MLS Player of the Week for Week 28.
Mukhtar has now scored multiple goals in a match five times this season, which is more than any other MLS player. His five Player of the Week Awards since 2020 are the most in MLS and the German is now the only player to win the award multiple times in both 2021 and 2022 Seasons.
Mukhtar brought his goal tally in 2022 to 19 on Wednesday night, which set a new club single-season record, eclipsing the previous mark of 16 that he set in 2021. The German attacker also made history by becoming the fourth player in MLS history to produce at least 12 goal contributions (seven goals, five assists) in a calendar month. He leads the league in goal contributions with 30.
Saturday night at GEODIS Park will mark Kick Childhood Cancer Night in Music City. Nashville SC is joining MLS WORKS and Continental Tire in their support of the KCC campaign by fundraising and organizing acts of kindness for patients, families and health providers at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. Nashville SC old-time favorite Taylor Washington and first-ever SuperDraft pick Jack Maher made a special surprise visit to child patients at the hospital and helped deliver club customized pajama bottoms.
Nashville SC will also amplify the voices of children battling cancer with the launch of the KCC 2022-themed scarf and patch designed by KCC Ambassador and child patient Caroline Lantz. Both items will be sold throughout the month of September with proceeds benefitting the Children’s Hospital. Additionally, patients and families of the Children’s Hospital will serve as this weekend’s Section 6-1-5 guests, and doctors, nurses and medical staff will carry the GEODIS Community Flag on the pitch prior to kickoff.
The club will also be honoring nine-year-old cancer survivor as Nashville SC’s Hero of the Match. Diagnosed with leukemia in 2019, the nine-year-old needed a bone marrow transplant for a second chance at life, and thanks to a generous donor, he made a full recovery. He even received approval from his doctor to start playing soccer. Attendees will be able to learn and sign up to become a donor by visiting the booth located nearby section 129.
Fans who will be attending this weekend’s match can arrive to GEODIS Park early to enjoy the pre-match entertainment outside the stadium. Beginning at 5 p.m. CT, the Opening Act in the North Plaza will feature southern rock band from Statesboro, GA, Backyard Loveseat. Additionally, Kara Hesse will give a pop- up acoustic performance outside Gate C while Dustin Gaspard and Sarah Russo will be performing outside Gate F.
Fans with tickets in the GEODIS WeHo Club will also have access to a private performance leading up to kickoff by Brandon Ratcliff, a descendant of the Grammy award winning Cox family and uptown country artist. Singer songwriter and rising country artist who signed with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelly of Florida Georgia Line, Canaan Smith, will put on a show on the Main Stage at halftime.
Following the entrance of both teams on the pitch, modern country duo rooted in stunning harmonies and sharp songwriting SmithField will perform the National Anthem, and as the Boys in Gold take the pitch, former child prodigy Arielle, who has toured with the likes of Joan Jett, Guns N’ Roses and Keith Urban, among many others, will perform the pre-match guitar riff.
