Mukhtar Will Be Formally Presented at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame 2023 Banquet
Nashville Soccer Club in conjunction with the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame have announced that reigning 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar has been named Tennessee’s Professional Player of the Year by the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame.
Mukhtar became the first Nashville SC player to win the 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP and the MLS Golden Boot.
The German was named the 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP after receiving 48.03 percent of the total votes, including 78 percent of the media vote. He led the league with 34 goal contributions (23 goals, 11 assists), which tied for the fifth-most in a single MLS season. The attacker accounted for 44.2 percent of Nashville’s goals (23 of 52) in 2022, which was the highest percentage in MLS.
Mukhtar joins a list of high-profile Tennesseans who have earned achievements this past year and will be recognized at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame Banquet on July 22 at the Omni Nashville Downtown.

This season, Mukhtar is the team leader in goal contributions with eight and has been named to the MLS Team of the Matchday three times, including this past week after his performance in the 3-1 victory over rival Atlanta United FC.
