It is with deep regret that we share the news of the passing of Mark Humphreys. Mark’s wife, Emily shared the post below from Humphreys & Partners Architects on Facebook. My heart dropped when I saw it. Mark was so generous and supported so many wonderful causes. I always loved seeing Mark – always had a smile on his face, always fun and funny, always kind. He will be greatly missed.
Humphreys & Partners Architects –
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved founder and leader, Mark Humphreys. Mark built a multifamily architectural empire that has provided design services for hundreds of thousands of apartment homes in both the U.S. and internationally.
Known as a multifamily architectural visionary and pioneer, Humphreys established Humphreys & Partners (HPA) and recruited highly-respected architect Greg Faulkner to join him in 1991. HPA will continue to operate under the direction of Faulkner, who is the president of HPA, and Walter Hughes, chief innovation officer of HPA.
Mark is survived by his wife Emily, his children Jessica Humphreys Baxter, Cassandra Guerro and Stephanie Humphreys and his stepchildren Mary and Joseph Hastings. He is also survived by his brothers Larry and Dave Humphreys and his sister Kay Osborn.
Mark’s family and our HPA family will all be grieving together in the days ahead. He will be greatly missed, but the industry is forever changed and his legacy will live on.
