Nashville Soccer Club will face C.F. Monterrey at GEODIS Park on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 8:30 p.m. CT in the Leagues Cup 2023 Semifinals.

Nashville SC’s semifinals berth in the Leagues Cup 2023 tournament marks its farthest tournament advancement in club history. Nashville SC has reached the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs every year in its MLS history, but has never advanced past the Conference Semifinals round, which is one match shy of the Leagues Cup semifinals equivalent. Nashville SC reached the Eastern Conference Semifinals in both 2020 and 2021.

Nashville SC advanced to the Leagues Cup 2023 semifinals after a 5-0 drubbing of Minnesota United FC at GEODIS Park on Friday, Aug. 11 with goals from five different scorers in the shutout victory.

Nashville SC and C.F. Monterrey have both been in scoring form through five Leagues Cup 2023 matches, with Nashville recording 13 goals and Monterrey recording 12. While both offenses are firing on all cylinders, Nashville SC has spread the goal-scoring duties with 10 players responsible for its 13 tournament goals: Hany Mukhtar, Jacob Shaffelburg, Walker Zimmerman, Fafà Picault, Luke Haakenson, Aníbal Godoy, Sam Surridge, Shaq Moore, Teal Bunbury and Alex Muyl.

Of these 10 different goal scorers, both Surridge and Moore recorded their first goals with Nashville SC during this tournament. Mukhtar and Shaffelburg are tied for most goal contributions with six apiece (two goals, four assists for Mukhtar; one goal, five assists for Shaffelburg). Meanwhile, Monterrey has seen five different goal scorers record its 12 goals.

Earlier today, Nashville SC Head Coach Gary Smith and players Shaq Moore and Elliot Panicco spoke to media. Smith discussed Nashville SC’s recent form and the impact of this tournament run on the young club’s history. Moore and Panicco spoke on the team’s focus on the match ahead and preparations for facing off with C.F. Monterrey on Tuesday night.

Nashville SC is guaranteed to play once more in the Leagues Cup 2023 tournament on Saturday, Aug. 19 in its quest for the club’s first silverware and a spot in the 2024 Concacaf Champions League. If Nashville SC wins Tuesday night, it will advance and play the winner of Philadelphia Union and Inter Miami CF for the Leagues Cup 2023 championship. If lose, the Boys in Gold will face the loser of that same match for the third-place match.
