The Boys in Gold are coming off a spectacular 3-1 victory over St. Louis CITY SC in front of a sold-out crowd of 30,109 at GEODIS Park. Hany Mukhtar scored his fourth MLS career hat trick to lead the Boys in Gold to a victory.

Nashville SC is riding an all-time best 10-match unbeaten streak dating back to April 22. The Boys in Gold own a 7W-0L-3D record in that span, outscoring opponents 21-9 and allowing one or fewer goals in each of the matches.

Defensively, Nashville SC has allowed the fewest goals in MLS this season (13) through Matchday 19. The Boys in Gold also own the best goal-differential in the MLS with +15.

Earlier today, Head Coach Gary Smith and former CF Montréal defender Daniel Lovitz addressed the media to preview Wednesday’s match. Coach Smith discussed the progression of Montréal throughout the season and challenges they pose. Smith highlighted CF Montréal’s adaptability, depth, and run of form at this point of the season.

Lovitz spoke about the importance of staying focused on winning games, taking advantage of opportunities and replicating the things they do well at home. Lovitz, who played for CF Montréal from 2017-19, has never lost against CF Montréal in his career in eight MLS regular season matches (6W-0L-2D).

Earlier today, reigning 2022 Landon Donovan MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar was voted the Major League Soccer Player of the Matchday presented by Continental Tire for Matchday 19 of the 2023 MLS season, marking the second time this season Mukhtar has earned the award. Mukhtar was named MOTM on Matchday 11 when the German recorded a hat trick against Chicago Fire FC on May 6 at GEODIS Park.

Mukhtar now has eight Player of the Matchday honors in his career and is the fourth player in MLS history to win multiple Player of the Matchday honors in three consecutive seasons (Bradley Wright-Phillips, Sebastian Giovinco, and Josef MartĂnez).

Mukhtar now has four career MLS hat tricks and is just the 12th player in league history to hit that mark. The midfielder’s first goal was also his 50th over the past three seasons. With that goal, he became the third player in league history to score 50 goals and add 30 assists over a three-year span, joining Sebastian Giovinco (2015-17) and Robbie Keane (2012-14, 2013-15).

This season, Mukhtar leads all MLS players in goals (13) and goal contributions (20) and has recorded a goal or an assist in 10 of his last 13 league matches. Mukhtar is the only player in MLS to have an active streak of 10 goals and five assists in three straight seasons.

Following the match, the club will conduct its post-match media availability via  Zoom. Footage will be distributed upon conclusion.
